The man, Prosper Vincent earlier suspected to have COVID-19 in Abia State has tested negative for the virus and will be promptly released for isolation, says Abia Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu in a press statement on Monday.
Prosper Vincent was said to have sneaked into Abia from the neighbouring Akwa Ibom after having to contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the state.
He was later tracked to a location with the assistance of security agents in Aba after all attempts to submit himself for test failed, having manifested symptoms of coronavirus.
Abia had on Monday announced two confirmed index cases of COVID-19 who have since been admitted in an isolation center in the state.
