Three COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Abuja and the federal capital territory (FCT).

While Mohammed Bello, minister of FCT, announced that three patients were discharged in the nation’s capital, Dominic Ukpong, Akwa Ibom commissioner for health, gave the update on his state.

“Dear FCT residents, I am glad to announce that additional three (3) #COVID19 patients have been discharged from the isolation and treatment centre in the FCT after they tested negative. The total number of discharged patients in the FCT is now 23 as at 7:30pm, April 15th, 2020,” Bello tweeted.

Ukpong told reporters that three coronavirus patients and three suspected cases were discharged from the isolation centre at Ibom Specialty Hospital, Uyo.

He said three of the discharged patients are from the initial five cases reported in the state, while the other three were contacts traced and isolated but whose test results test negative.

Ukpong explained that two from the initial five cases, and one confirmed case brings to three, the number of COVID-19 patients in the state.
