Coalition Of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has applauded the management of ABN TV, a popular online medium for its recent donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to journalists in Abia State as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The PPE our correspondent gathered was to enable the media workers stay safe from COVID-19 even as they go about their duties.
In a release jointly signed by the President-General of COSEYL Chief Goodluck Egwu Ibem and Secretary-General, Comrade Kanice Igwe, COSEYL said the gesture is a testimony that ABN TV has the interest of journalists at heart, calling on other media platforms to take a cue from ABN TV.

“They have shown that they have the interest and well-being of journalists in Abia State at heart. This will encourage journalists to render more selfless service and totally commitment to the duties knowing fully well that they are protected against the dreaded disease, coronavirus.
“ABN is the first media house to give such wonderful gifts to journalists all over the country. It is very thoughtful of the management to give such a wonderful gift in a time like this. We applaud them.
“We call on the journalists to ensure that they reciprocate this good gesture by All Breaking News by ensuring that they give the public accurate and first-hand information of was is happening in their environment especially now that they are so many unreliable information that is circulating everywhere in the social media” the release stated.
The group also commended the Abia State Government for the food items they gave to the less privileged in the state through the churches and other organizations, urging them to extend the same gesture to journalists in the state.
“We urge other privileged persons and organisations to emulate ABN Online TV and Radio by giving supports to those who really need them in this trying times that we are faced by this deadly Coronavirus that has led so many to their untimely death.” the statement concluded.
