Candidate of the Labour Party, LP for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency seat in the 2019 election, Chief Charles Nzechi has joined the All Progressives Congress.
This comes few months after leaving his former party the Labour Party, LP, without disclosing his next political move.
He documented his membership at his Isingwu ward in Umuahia North local government area of Abia state.
It is not, however, clear if he will throw his hat into the race to vie for any elective political position in the state as 2023 approaches.
His defection to APC was formalised at a ceremony held at the home of one of the ward leaders of APC in Isingwu, Chibuike Ude Agomuo of Amafor Ihungwu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.

The APC ward leader and other officials were in attendance, together with some party loyalists and Nzechi supporters.
Though he was not physically present at the event owing to the COVID-19 global lockdown which prevented international flights from operating, his representatives said he would return when the situation relaxes to register at the LGA level.
It was gathered that the party supporters that witnessed his joining APC were entertained and given their transport money.
The APC in Abia state is witnessing influx of politicians to the party in recent times, especially with the release of senator Orji Uzor Kalu from prison.
Chief Henry Ikoh, a PDP chieftain and the former commissioner has joined APC, likewise Dr Alex Otti who is highly speculated to be on his way to APC.
He was rumoured to be preparing to declare at the house of APC Board of Trustees member, Prince BB APugo before the COVID-19 lockdown disrupted the plan. Also, prominent APGA members in the state have equally joined the party ahead of 2023 General Election.
