The Minister of States for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has warned that any loophole not tightened to curtail the spread of coronavirus could be dangerous to the people’s health.
The Minister made this known on Saturday in a chat with ABN TV.
He expressed displeasure that some persons still have doubt that the virus exists, stating that it is a virus that has come to stay.
According to Ogah, the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election, Abia, his home state and the country at large have lost prominent citizens to the disease while others are at various treatment centres.
While calling for regular exercise among Nigerians, he reiterated the importance of adhering to the safety protocols which among other things he said is the use of the face mask, regular hand washing, avoidance of public gathering and social distancing.
He further cautioned against home treatment of those who have the virus as against treatment in isolation centres, maintaining that home treatment can increase chances the spread of the deadly virus.
Ogah appealed to those who have doubt about the existence of the disease to have a rethink, warning that it does not respect age or status.
ABN TV reports that the Minister had earlier rolled out food and other palliatives to cushion the effect of lockdown among Abians, a measure put in place to curb the spread of the disease.
