The immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the suspension of Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended Magu as EFCC Acting Chairman. The suspension is coming at a time Magu is facing a presidential panel since Monday over allegations of corruption.
Moments after the news of Magu’s suspension broke, Fayose took to micro-blogging site, Twitter to demand that the suspended EFCC Acting Chairman must be placed on “Watch List” as the anti-graft agency placed him despite having immunity as a sitting governor.
The former Ekiti State Governor said Magu must be placed on watch-list so that he won’t run away, calling on the “EFCC, DSS, Customs, Police, Immigration, Army, Navy, Air Force” and others to be on the alert.
“Just as Magu directed that I be placed on “Watch-list” even when I had immunity as a sitting gov, Magu too must be placed on watch-list so that he won’t run away. EFCC, DSS, Customs, Police, Immigration, Army, Navy, Air Force, others, over to you. What goes around comes around,” Fayose tweeted.
