Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has urged the children of the late chairman of PDP in the state, Sir Johnson Onuigbo to keep the legacies of their father alive.
He gave this advise when he paid a condolence visit to late Onuigbo’s home town in Umuobasi, Ugba Ibeku, Umuahia North local government area of the state.
Sir Onuigbo passed on recently after a brief illness.
During the visit, the Governor expressed deep regret over the death of Sir Onuigbo.
In a statement on Friday issued by Onyebuchi Ememanka Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ikpeazu described the late PDP Chairman as a dedicated and committed party man, who contributed immensely to the growth of the party in the State and urged the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude, pointing out that God knows the best.
He further urged the children to sustain the legacies of their father.
Responding on behalf of the family, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya thanked the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for coming to condole with them in their time of grief.
He asked God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and grant them the heart to bear the loss.
The Governor later signed the Condolence Register.
The wife of the late Chairman, Lady Uzoamaka Onuigbo, and her children were present at the solemn visit.
