Giving Provokes God's Visitation — Sen. Kalu

Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on Christians to imbibe the culture of giving for the development of God’s kingdom.

Kalu who announced a cash gift also says people provoke God’s visitation when they contribute cheerfully, adding that it open doors of financial breakthrough.

“I want to prophetically assure you that as you give today, the attention of God will come to you because you have provoked the visitation of God by force over your life. He will end all your life battles; reward you with financial increase; bless you with long life and restore your honour” he said.

The former Abia governor who was a Special Guest of Honour at the fundraising ceremony of Assemblies of God Nigeria FESTAC 3, Lagos on Sunday extolled the efforts the church which he said started from the humble beginning has made in converting members.

May I start my remarks by thanking the Ministers and the Organizing Committee of this event, as well as the entire members of this Church for inviting me to this all-important event as a Special Guest of Honour. I am particularly delighted and impressed to observe that this Church which started from a humble beginning is bringing together such a large number of worshippers.

“Please, accept my hearty congratulations on your decision to give your permanent place of worship a facelift. Indeed, this move could not have come at a better time than now, when the church as the biggest influencer in Nigeria is expected to play a dominant and leading role in nation-building and transforming the lives of kingdom citizens” he said.

The Abia North Senator while noting the role of the Church in tackling social ills said the church must begin to respond effectively to its roles in nation-building.

“There is no doubt that in the 21st Century Nigeria, the church has some strategic and important roles to play in fighting societal ills like social and economic injustice, greed, corruption, nepotism, maladministration, poverty, impunity, insecurity, rights abuse, and underdevelopment etc.

“It is fundamental that, for any church to respond effectively and strategically to its societal roles in nation-building, and winning of souls to Christ, all physical and structural challenges and barriers such as inadequate space for worship and other gatherings, unsafe/insecurity of church members during and after services, environmental degradation, etc must be frontally addressed. I want to believe that these factors and many more must-have prompted the idea and desire to give the permanent site of this Church a facelift.

“As kingdom builders, we must all be ready to answer the clarion call to support the transformation of this place of worship to a serene, calm, relaxed and comfortable place for praying, praising, worshipping and teaching the word of God as well as a centre for broad knowledge acquisition.

“I see today’s event as a divine call for everyone of us here, to join hands and work together to build and advance God’s kingdom because He lays emphasis when it comes to building His house. We must all be ready and committed to generously give our best to the work of God. The present economic hardship in the country should not discourage us because there are enormous blessings and rewards that come with giving towards the execution of God’s work. I encourage us to borrow a leaf from King Solomon in the Bible, who sacrificially built the house of God, and he saw the hand of God” he said.

He further appealed to clerics to make soul winning a cardinal objective.

As I round off my remarks, I urge the ministers of this Church, and indeed all men of God to make soul winning the priority of their ministries. In every community, there are men, women, boys and girls who would respond to the word of God if a spirit-filled soul-winner presents God’s gracious offer of salvation to them.

“Finally, on behalf of my family, I wish to announce a donation of N500,000.00 towards the execution of the project. May God bless you as you keep up your tireless effort to spread God’s word and build His kingdom”.
