The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah through his foundation, Uche Ogah Foundation has collaborated with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to disburse soft loans to Abians.
Successful applicants were on 23th of September issued Approval Letters in readiness for disbursement of funds.
The event commenced with training session headed by the Head of Small Scale Enterprises of NDE, Pastor Paul Ukandu.
Other Heads of Department of NDE, stakeholders and representatives of Uche Ogah Foundation were present.
The Director General NDE was represented by the coordinator Abia state Arch. Lady Chi Uzoatuegwu, while the founder Uche Ogah Foundation was represented by Evan.Chris Agbai.
Speaking at the event the state Coordinator NDE Abia state chapter Arch. Lady Chi Uzoatuegwu said “NDE is one of the agencies of government charged with the responsibility of paying unemployed youths, actually what we do in NDE is training. When NDE started newly we had loans, settlement loans and others, at a time we were asked to focus on training but once in a while they see that those we train need money for business so that’s why we have things like this come in, and when it does we call you to come and be part of it.
“I am of the opinion that those of you who are here are very lucky to have been selected from a pull of millions of unemployed persons to benefit from this loan”.
She encouraged the recipients to make maximum use of the money not minding how little, but to put efforts to actualize their purpose.
ABN TV gathered that beneficiaries will few days from now be credited through the account details supplied.
They could not hide their joy as they described the development one of its kind.
One of the beneficiaries, Florence Nnamdi expressed gratitude to Dr. Ogah, whom he said has never hidden his love for the people.
“I’m grateful to the Minister for this empowerment. I can’t thank him enough but can only pray God to replenish him. He has always shown love and how much the welfare of the people Matters to him. During COVID-19, he put smile on our faces and we say God bless him”.
